We have made obbys that practice very isolated articulation processes and the speech sound in all positions. This makes practice extremely targeted and motivating for the child so he or she does not have to practice words that they struggle with from an articulatory view.
We have removed the chat function in our games, but we advise the game to be adult-administered.
Why did we make this?
The first time we started using Roblox was during Covid. Suddenly we could not meet clients in our clinic and all sessions were done using video calls. This was a challenge. We made PDF files with different games and such, which worked out good. But after starting using Roblox, we really saw the potential in this platform. We found games that were motivating for the child, but that also was made in such a way that we could implement practice of speech sounds. Both obbys and tycoons are really good for this, but no games were specifically made for speech therapy..
Roblox is an online platform with thousands of games and it can be diffucult to know which games are suitable. Using our games, you can relax, lean back and do what you do best - focus on your treatment goals.Our games makes Roblox as an practice platform much more effifienct than before.
Our games are not made to replace the speech therapist. They are not been for learning to articulate a new sound, but to help out with generalization when the child master the sound.
